Fifty Years at Bogancloch

is part of the Off-grid Scotland series exploring the subject of self-isolation in the wilds through various mediums. Jake is possibly Scotland's most famous hermit having played the lead (and only role) in Ben Rivers slow cinema documentary '2 Years At Sea' (2012).

The film was published online by the BBC on the 24/05/20.

The still-image story featured in my four-part picture essay on The Guardian on 25th June 2020:

Splendid isolation: in search of Scotland's hermits

and reached 45,000 views in the first 24 hours.

I also made an Immersive Multi-media Story about my initial meetings with Jake. This includes 3 short films, word, sound recordings, and a map; using the ArcGis Storymap platform.
